{{What To Expect}}

Brandy Caruso Photography is a Fine Art Portrait Photography Studio. We specialize in Maternity, Newborn, Birth, and Baby Photography, in a modern, upscale studio located in Thornton Colorado. We service the surrounding Denver areas for in Studio and on location portrait sessions throughout the year. Our mission is to help mothers cherish childhood with timeless art, starring your child!

Portrait sessions are held on location in the Denver Colorado area, with the exception of Newborn and Milestone Baby sessions that are held in our Thornton Studio, so you have access to all of our props, buckets and backdrops. Maternity sessions can also be held in our Studio during the colder months. Our Studio space is perfect for those loving the modern wrapped and sheer maternity portraits, like we do. We schedule portrait sessions Monday through Friday. We do offer a limited number of Saturday spots. These tend to fill up months in advance, so please contact us soon if you would like a weekend space (weekend fee extra).

{{Portrait Sessions Include:}}

* A welcome packet with lots of information and advice to help you prepare for your portrait session.

* Your couture consultation either over the phone, by email or in studio, where we consult with you to get a sense of your personality and vision. We will also guide you through the process of choosing clothing and wall ensembles to better customize your session.

* 1 hour portrait session on location (we have lots of location ideas) and 2-3 hours for Newborns (in Studio).

* Up to 30 fully edited images presented to you during your viewing session here in our Studio, approximately 3 weeks after your session. So please bring with you any decision makers for your gallery viewing. This is also the time where you would place an order for any other custom products you’d like to have for your portraits.

During your session, you can expect a relaxed and fun atmosphere. I want you to feel at ease and enjoy yourself during our time together. I like to get to know my clients and capture their true personalities. You can expect both candid and posed shots with your family and children sessions. Tickles, hugs and lots of laughter is a true favorite to capture with our families.

Please expect to take breaks during your session if you have little ones. Infants often need to nurse or feed and love on Mom and Dad. Toddlers sometimes have meltdowns and thats OK! I have a little one myself:) Lets plan for your session to be after a nap time and a full belly. This will help keep you little one happy and smiling for their portraits.

With Newborns it is expected to have spit ups and other messes so don’t worry about that. I have extra blankets to change in and out just in case of accidents. Make sure you bring extra formula or pumped bottles just in case. Newborn sessions typically last 2-3 hours, so please plan accordingly. I like to keep the studio warm and toasty for newborns and have a small heater near by, so we get those favorite sleeping poses. If parents and siblings would like to participate, we will do those images first, so please let me know before your session date. Plan to only bring those family members that will be photographed to your session.

I know you will love your images!! However, if for any reason, you are not completely satisfied, we will re-do your session, free of charge. Your satisfaction is our guarantee.

Clothing suggestions for your portrait session:

Newborns
nude is best
-we have all props and accessories for your little one in our Thornton Studio
-we love simple set ups and accessories so your little one stands out in their portraits
-For Mom, we have a selection of gowns in our Studio for you to use, or you can wear a solid colored t-shirt into the Studio that compliments Dad’s shirt. No jewelry, hair down and simple makeup is perfect. Make sure your nail polish isn’t chipped, since we get lots of images with parents hands
-For Dad, a black or white t-shirt, or a solid color that works best with Mom’s outfit. Button up shirts aren’t the best. For those Dads that are comfortable bearing their chest,  these can make for some of the most precious images with Father and child.

-For Siblings, we ask they come in a simple dress (for little girls), or jeans and a solid t-shirt (for little boys). No socks and shoes are perfect. We also like to do shirtless poses of Big Brothers with the baby, or use a wrap around Big Sister with baby

Maternity
-denim jeans (maternity jeans or an old pair that you can button down or unzip for photos)
-basic tank top
-form fitting maternity gown (we have a large selection in Studio for your use)
-your favorite fitted maternity shirt

-just remember, simple goes a long way
-special items you would like to be photographed with

Families and Children
-accessories, such as headbands, scarves, jewelry, jackets and hats can really add to your look. Layers are always great
-avoid all white or all black color combos
-Avoid matching outfits, but rather try to find outfits that compliment each other
-Avoid clothing with logos and busy patterns that will distract
-Color! Splashes of color really make your photos pop!
-neutral colors and jewel tones are perfect for fall

-props – if you have fun props, such as antique family items or items with special meaning you’d like included, please feel free to bring them.
