What To Expect

Brandy Caruso Photography is a Fine Art Portrait Photographer, specializing in Newborn, Maternity, Baby and Family Photography in a modern, upscale studio located in Thornton Colorado. We service the surrounding Denver areas for in studio and on location portrait sessions throughout the year. Our mission is to help mothers cherish childhood with timeless art, starring your child!

Portrait sessions are held on location in the Denver Colorado area, with the exception of Newborn and Milestone Baby sessions that are held in our cute little studio, so you have access to all of our props, buckets and backdrops. Maternity sessions can also be held in our studio during the colder months. Perfect for those loving the modern wrapped and sheer maternity portraits, like we do. We schedule Monday through Friday. We do offer Saturday spots, which tend to fill up months in advance, so please contact us soon if you would like a weekend space (weekend fee extra).

Portrait Sessions Include:

* A welcome packet with lots of information and advice to help you prepare for your portrait session.

* A couture consultation either over the phone, by email or in studio, where we consult with you to get a sense of your personality and vision. We will also guide you through the process of choosing clothing and wall ensembles to better customize your session.

* 1 hour portrait session on location (we have lots of location ideas) and 2-3 hours for Newborns (in studio).

* Approximately 30-35 fully edited images presented to you during your viewing session, in studio, 2-3 weeks after your session.

During your session, you can expect a relaxed and fun atmosphere. I want you to feel at ease and enjoy yourself during our time together. I like to get to know my clients and capture their true personalities. You can expect both candid and posed shots with your family and children sessions.

Please expect to take breaks during your session if you have little ones. Infants often need to nurse or feed and love on Mom and Dad. Toddlers sometimes have meltdowns and thats OK! I have a little one myself:)

With children its always a good idea to bring their favorite snack and toy when doing on location sessions. Sometimes the best shots are of your child playing with their family and their favorite toys.

With newborns it is expected to have spit ups and other messes so don’t worry about that. I have extra blankets to change in and out just in case of accidents. Make sure you bring extra diapers and wipes just in case. Newborn sessions typically last 2-3 hours, so please plan accordingly. I like to keep the studio warm and toasty for newborns and have a small heater near by, so we get those favorite sleeping poses. If parents and siblings would like to participate, we will do those images first, so please let me know before your session date.

I know you will love your images!! However, if for any reason, you are not completely satisfied, we will re-do your session, free of charge. Your satisfaction is our guarantee.

Here are a few suggestions for what to wear/bring for your session

(I will also have my collection of fun hats, tutus and newborn props on hand)

Newborns
nude is best
-fun hats
-a simple onesie if you have a favorite
-For mom, a simple black or white tank, short-sleeved shirt or tube top is perfect. Simple is best, avoid patterns.
-For dad, a black or white t-shirt. For those dads that are comfortable bearing their chest please do because these can make for some of the most precious images with father and child.

-Neutrals for family portraits.

Maternity
-denim jeans (maternity jeans or an old pair that you can button down or unzip for photos)
-basic tank top
-flirty sun dress (for summer)
-your favorite fitted maternity shirt
-bathing suit top and fun skirt (for summer)
-bando bra/belly band in black or white
-just remember, simple goes a long way
-blocks that spell baby’s name
-sonogram photos
-baby shoes
-special items you would like to be photographed with

Families and Children
-accessories, such as headbands, scarves, jewelry, jackets and hats can really add to your look. Layers are always great
-avoid all white or all black color combos
-Avoid matching outfits, but rather try to find outfits that compliment each other
-Avoid clothing with logos and busy patterns that will distract
-Color! Splashes of color really make your photos pop!
-denim
-dress up shirts
-striped or patterned stockings/tights
-fun, flirty dress
-props – if you have fun props, such as antique family items or items with special meaning you’d like included, please feel free to bring them.
